Elaine's philosophy
The horse is an intelligent, soulful animal that deserves to be treated respectfully and kindly, with understanding of its natural needs and desires for food, freedom, exercise and company of its own kind.
Horses have not been created for humans to ride. Not all horses have the conformation or temperament to make suitable riding horses.
Humans need to learn the horse's language, which is not primarily verbal; rather it is based on body language, focus and use of energy.
Training methods and work based on mental coercion / domination and physical cruelty have no place in equestrianism. The gold standard is relationship building through play and in-hand / liberty work, that develop the horse's natural talents and personality.
