Coaching and Therapy
The coach at Clocktower is Dr. Elaine Atkins
EdD, MSc, BSc, PGCE(FE), EFT Level 2 Practitioner
Elaine is a gifted educator and coach. She has 30+ years experience in education, training and development across secondary, further and higher education sectors, and in the NHS and private industry. She holds both a doctorate in education and a postgraduate teaching certificate, in addition to her Masters and Batchelors degrees in physiology.
Horses have been an integral part of Elaine's life for 50 years. Her approach to working with them is grounded in natural horsemanship and her own intuitive methods, and can include Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) for which Elaine is a qualified practitioner. She took early retirement from a senior management role in the NHS in 2007 and is now living her dream which includes breeding horses and competing them in dressage and showing disciplines.
Elaine's approach to coaching and teaching is facilitative and centred around the individual's own goals. She is able to:
raise your awareness of your own behaviour with horses and the effect this is having;
encourage you to build self-reliance and be creative in solving problems;
respect your dignity and that of the horse;
encourage reflection, renewal and new possibilities;
assure confidentiality at all times.
NEW!
Due to increasing demand for help with difficult emotional / psychological problems, Elaine has now established a professional coaching and therapy service offering individual consultations for horse and handler / rider to help solve emotional / behavioural problems. She can also assist with physical problems where there is an emotional component.
